I travelled in to Cambridge this morning on a Stagecoach A. This vehicle had a small electronic information screen mounted on the wall behind the driver giving the time, and details of what stop the bus was at or where it would be calling next. Its the first time I'd seen such a feature and I'm guessing that Stagecoach will be rolling this out to all their busway buses in due course. A very useful addition to Stagecoach's already good buses, and particularly helpful to passengers who are not familiar with the bus routes.
The Cambridgeshire Guided Busway linking St Ives, Cambridge and Trumpington opened on 7 August 2011. This blog is now closed to new posts and comments. It was set up for people who travelled the busway, either as bus passengers, or users of the cycle/footpath such as pedestrians, cyclists and horse riders. The blog remains visible as a historic record. Many thanks to everyone who contributed to the blog over the past decade.

New Year bus services
Today (the New Year Bank Holiday) a Sunday service has been running on the busway. However, the electronic notice board at St Ives Park & Ride was showing a normal weekday service including buses on service A to Trumpington. I noticed that live bus times were not showing either. Electronic information systems are only as good as the people who input the data. Somebody at the County Council's busway department has slipped up here, I reckon.
